I get the urge to put something out the day of, but with our tendency to move on with the news cycle I think putting this out later like you did is a good way to keep it in people’s minds.
Hey, thanks! If it was up to me, I would’ve put this out that very weekend, but didn’t have the space to record and finish writing. And the idea started losing steam. However, I do think that it is important to still put in the work and put it out to keep the conversation going. Especially when the narrative around what CEOs and business represent. We have a star contrast here and I think that that’s something to work with and from a artistic standpoint. Really hope you put out the idea you were thinking about. Might be worth scouring the Substack to see what other artist might’ve done around this point. And just do a sort of aggregate post to help create this sort of conversation.
Such as sad state of affairs -- this was done very well. Nice job too while working on the EP. I think you do a great job of letting people know you have this big project come up while sharing these smaller pieces.
Hey Josh, yes, very sad but I’m also glad to see there are still folks with big names and established history in the US standing up even during these times. I’m doing my best, in my own way, to celebrate that while subverting some of the mafia so celebratory type stuff in hip-hop. Appreciate that feedback around the EP, that is greatly appreciated. We are about halfway mixing track 3 of 5! 🙏🏽 in the thick of it! After mixing comes mastering—then handling some admin stuff with releasing the EP, and then… it should be out ! 🤩

I told a coworker about this piece and he had no idea about this happening (which was surprising, he usually has a good ear to the news).
